The Sales Administrator Intern is the liaison between the sales dept, IT, operations, credit, procurement, and accounting. This individual will work closely with sales to help streamline the clerical sales functions between sales and other departments. The sales admin intern will report to the inside sales manager and will work closely with sales, customers and our other departments to help the region provide superior customer experiences internally and externally. 

Compensation: $20.00 an hour, 30 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

The following duties are typically performed by those with this job title; however, they may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each person with this job title: 

  • Customer credits and RMA follow up
  • CIMS follow up to ensure timely release of materials (agreed upon release schedule)
  • Works closely with the quote desk to ensure quick turnaround time on quotes for the sales reps
  • Monitors churn accounts and works closely with the FP&A team and sales reps to follow up accordingly
  • Monitors and updates customer delivery windows and priorities to ensure Optimiroute compliance
  • Embodies “service excellence” mindset and monitors compliance with established service standards, reports any identified gaps to ISM
  • Follows up on new customer orders to ensure new orders go as planned and follows up with existing customers to ensure any errors have been resolved to their satisfaction 
  • Following up on existing IT requests for the Sales dept. (Web helm, Accuterm)
  • Tracking RMA’s and “N” status orders
  • Notification to customers of RMA pickup same day 
  • Sales-Related Issues W/ Orders populating in nightly order file that shouldn’t be 
  • Tracking deliveries of Export orders, linked orders
  • Following up on Orders that are in M3 status due to order not ready
  • Tracking of Reships and Back-orders, identifies trends to improve performance and customer experience
  • Point person for customer to email or call when changes are needed to Delivery
  • Collaborates with all departments as needed to ensure customer concerns from surveys and other inputs are addressed and customers are provided with responses as quickly as possible.

Education

  • Pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or other relevant field with an interest in sales

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Office, fabrication and manufacturing shops – moderate to loud noise level. This position regularly requires standing; walking; sitting; use hands; reaching with hands and arms; and talking and/or hearing. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
