• Operate company trucks on public roads to transport, load and unload material to EMS customers
• Operate vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and in accordance with
generally accepted practices of safe driving
• Complete a driver's logbook and vehicle inspection report according to DOT regulations
• Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure
• Review shipping papers for nature of load and special handling requirements if any
• Check load to determine if it's properly secured and safe
• Backup truck to loading platform; turn narrow corners; negotiate narrow passageways; keep truck and
trailer under control particularly on wet or icy highways
• Wear safety equipment when handling material
• Safely load and unload cargo as required
• Maintain the truck in a clean and safe manner
• Keep tarp clean, neat, folded, and secured on trailer
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Class "A" CDL driver's license
• Preferably 3 years of experience driving a 53ft tractor trailer
• No more than one major traffic violation within the past 5 years
• Lift and carry heavy material up to 75 lbs.; climb on and off a flatbed trailer.
• Most of their time will be spent driving and loading/unloading goods and materials.
• Significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping,
kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
• Generally, the job requires 50% driving, 30% walking, and 20% standing.
• May be required to work in a variety of weather conditions.
